Myth: A website is a one-time expense
Paying once and forgetting it is how websites go stale. Think of your website like a shop: it needs small, regular care to keep working for you.
Many business owners think of a website like a signboard: pay once, put it up, done.
But a website is closer to a shop than a signboard. Nobody opens a shop and never restocks the shelves.
What goes stale
- Information. New prices, new phone numbers, new services, old offers still showing.
- Security. Software that isn’t updated becomes an easy target.
- Speed. Images get added, pages get heavier, and the site slows down on mobile data.
A stale website quietly tells customers the business might be stale too.
What “small, regular care” looks like
It doesn’t have to be big or expensive. It’s a short checklist, done regularly:
- Is every phone number, price and opening hour still correct?
- Are updates and backups running?
- Does the site still load quickly on a normal phone?
- What are customers asking that the site doesn’t answer yet?
The partner way
This is why we work as a partner, not a vendor. Launch day isn’t the end of the project. It’s the day your website starts working, and it deserves someone looking after it.
